Impact Aid: FY 2028 institutional application dates announced
The U.S. Department of Education’s October 15 update sets December 7, 2026 as the opening of FY 2028 Impact Aid Section 7002 and 7003 applications, with a February 1, 2027 deadline.
Districts collecting Section 7003 survey data electronically for the first time must submit proposals by November 30, 2026. Applicants claiming children who live on Indian lands need approved Indian Policies and Procedures or a waiver.
These are school-district application steps; participation by each local district has not been verified. Education Watch now uses the announced February 1 deadline instead of the generic January 31 date.
