Section 106 Rewrite Moves to Federal Review

The Advisory Council on Historic Preservation voted to move forward with a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to revise 36 CFR Part 800.
What happens next
The draft NPRM goes to interagency review at the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs within OMB before publication in the Federal Register.
What this is not
This is not adoption of a final rule. A proposed rule and formal public-comment process are still ahead if the NPRM is cleared and published.
For Tribal governments, THPOs, cultural-resource staff, and community advocates, the useful next step is to watch the ACHP and Federal Register for the actual proposed text and comment instructions rather than treating the July 24 vote as the final legal change.
Open to Native families and anyone interested in learning and experiencing Indigenous culture. Children under 18 must remain accompanied and supervised by a parent or responsible adult.

Youth Service Corps Program
The Tribe reported a one-year award to recruit, train, and employ four youth ages 16–30 in food sovereignty, climate resilience, and land stewardship connected to the Alturas greenhouse.
The award supports band-led cultural burns, workforce training, intergenerational knowledge transfer, native-plant restoration, landscape resilience, and wildfire-risk reduction at XL Ranch.
The Tribe reported funding for federal coordination, consultation, advocacy, and legislative work supporting the Four Corners trust-to-trust land transfer.
The Tribe reported that community members, families, Tribal leadership, advocates, schools, Victim Services, Behavioral Health, and PRHS came together for remembrance, healing, unity, and justice.
