Yes — it is hot, especially in the lower-elevation Redding/Anderson area. Forecasts show Redding/Anderson near the upper 90s to low 100s Sunday through midweek. Burney and Alturas are not as extreme, but are still expected to be warm to hot, with highs reaching the upper 80s and low/mid 90s early next week.

Drink water, take shade/cooling breaks, avoid heavy outdoor work during the hottest part of the day when possible, and check on elders, kids, outdoor workers, pets, and relatives without reliable cooling.

Dry lightning / Red Flag awareness

Watch official fire-weather alerts closely. The current Modoc/Siskiyou-area warning language flags abundant lightning on dry fuels, with possible rapid fire spread if new starts occur.
